Here’s the deal with Sylveon in Pokémon Unite

The Fairy-type eeveelution enters the fray

On Tuesday, Pokémon Unite saw the debut of its latest partner pokémon, Sylveon. Unite’s first eeveelution is none other than the adorable fairy type, a ranged attacker with some interesting abilities.

“Sylveon has arrived in #PokemonUNITE, along with the Poncho Style Holowear and a matching Trainer outfit,” the Pokémon Unite account tweeted on Tuesday.

Though it may take a while to actually be able to queue with Sylveon thanks to the new monster hype, if you’re looking to build out your roster on attack, there’s plenty to learn about the eeveelution. Here’s everything you need to know about Sylveon in Pokémon Unite.

Sylveon is a ranged attacker and a special attacker, rather than a physical attacker. Basically, this means that it relies on its special attack stat in order to attack. With that in mind, you’re going to want to build Sylveon out to maximize that, while compensating for its lower mobility and endurance. Speaking of which…

Item Build for Sylveon in Pokémon Unite

Sylveon is somewhat similar to other ranged special attackers, like Ninetales or Cramorant. When you acquire its Unite License, it will come pre-equipped with at least two held items, depending on which ones you currently own and what level they’re currently at (mine started with the Score Shield and Rocky Helmet). If you have a build for this style of fighter that you already like, it’ll probably be easiest to outfit Sylveon with that.

If you’re not quite sure, try to equip items that emphasize the eeveelution’s strengths and make up for its weaknesses. Items like the Eject Button or Float Stone can help with Sylveon’s less than stellar mobility. To help with its lackluster endurance, you can try out the Focus Band or Assault Vest.
