Hearthstone’s newest event will bring the return of Blackrock

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Blizzard has announced that the next Hearthstone event will be the FIRE FEST-E.V.I.L.! The Hearthstone event starts on July 10 at 10:00 AM PT / 7:00 PM CET. It ends three weeks later, on July 31 at the same time. Throughout the three weeks, players will be able to play several new Tavern Brawls, a new community event, and a new fireside brawl. Besides these new events, for the first seven days (July 10-16), the game will have several legendary quests to complete in addition to your daily quests.

New Blackrock tavern brawls

For the first week, July 10-17, the Blackrock Crash event will be available to play. The Blackrock Crawl is a solo-adventure-style event similar to the single-player content in the game currently. The rewards for defeating the bosses of Blackrock will include:

  • 1 Saviors of Uldum card pack after defeating 4 bosses for the first time. This quest can be completed by beating any boss. Whether that is four times the first boss, or bosses 1-4 or anything in between.
  • The Ragnaros card back. The new Ragnaros card back will be available to those who manage to defeat all 8 Blackrock bosses during this week.
  • Two additional cards from the Rise of Shadows expansion can be earned through defeating the Blackrock bosses quickly. A golden copy of Bronze Herald can be earned by defeating all 8 bosses in under 1 hour. Also, a golden copy of Recurring Villain can be earned by those who manage to defeat the bosses in under 40 minutes.

Week two, July 17-24, features the Blackrock Crash event once more. This week brings in a new Arch-Villainous playable hero. This time, the reward is a Saviors of Uldum pack for defeating four bosses for the first time (this week). Additionally, players can earn a golden copy of Rafaam’s Scheme by defeating all 8 Blackrock bosses using the new playable hero, Arch-Villain Rafaam. There is no time requirement to earn this reward.

For the last week, July 24-31, things will switch to feature The Burndown. In the final tavern brawl of the event, players will face off against one another using random decks. The player who loses will play with the deck of his opponent for the next match. The final reward The Burndown tavern brawl will be a Saviors of Uldum card pack for winning a game in this tavern brawl for the first time.

Community Challenge

In the past, Hearthstone‘s community challenges have had various outcomes. This time around, the entire world will work together to defeat 25 million Blackrock tavern brawl bosses. Should they do so, players will unlock a legendary card reveal of the Saviors of Uldum expansion. At 6.25 million, 12.5 million, and 18.75 million bosses defeated, Blizzard will reveal one card to incentivize progression towards the 25 million.

The Fireside exclusive tavern brawl events will also provide another way to help progress towards the 25 million goal. For the FIRE FEST-E.V.I.L., there will be a new boss to fight in your local tavern. Working together with the people in attendance, you will face off against Ragnaros himself, with a total of 15000 health. Every time a tavern manages to defeat Ragnaros, it will count as 500 boss kills towards the community challenge. The new cards are revealed on the official Saviors of Uldum website.

Legendary Quests

Fire Festival, Loot, Blackrock, Hearthstone

So, here is the good part. We all love free stuff, and these legendary quests will be exactly what you want them to be. For the first seven days of the FIRE FEST-E.V.I.L., players will have an additional quest available for them to complete. Important to note is that these quests will be available in addition to your daily quests, but they do take up a slot in your quest log. The legendary quest replaces a normal quest when no space is available on the quest log, so make sure to be prepared!

Blizzard has not yet announced how you will complete the legendary quests. However, the rewards will include card packs from the current standard sets or a larger than normal amount of Gold.
