Hearthstone Masters Tour Jönköping & next APAC event to be fully online

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Blizzard has revealed that the upcoming two Hearthstone Masters Tour events will be entirely online. The reason for this decision by Blizzard is the ongoing situation of COVID-19, also known more generally as the coronavirus. The two events impacted are the upcoming event Hearthstone Masters Tour Jönköping, previously set to happen at DreamHack Summer on June 12-14, and the unannounced Masters Tour Asia-Pacific event happening July 16-19.

Masters Tour Jönköping

The qualification for Masters Tour Jönköping is almost over, with the last 48 invites going to this ranked season’s top 16 players of each of the major servers. The announcement of the event moving to online is no surprise after the success of the Masters Tour Los Angeles event earlier this month.

Even though the event is more than two months away, it is seemingly unlikely that global travel is back on track at that point. Likely, the entire DreamHack Summer event, at which the Masters Tour Jönköping was supposed to be happening, is getting canceled soon. However, at this point, there is no official word on it.

The unannounced Asia-Pacific event

The next Hearthstone Masters Tour event, now called Hearthstone Masters Tour Online: Asia-Pacific, has not had its original location revealed. The event takes place the weekend of July 16-19 in the KST timezone. Korean Standard Time is 8 hours ahead of central Europe and much further ahead of the U.S. The qualifier events for the next Masters Tour Online start April 2 and run until May 24. Besides this, placing in the top 16 of any region in April or May also qualifies you for the upcoming Masters Tour Online: Asia-Pacific event.

The return of the Hearthstone Grandmasters
