Lnguagehackr, xBlyzes and AlanC86 win Hearthstone Grandmasters Week 5

All three regional champions brought Garrote Rogue into the fray

Mihai “lnguagehackr” Dragalin, Zakarya “xBlyzes” Hail and Shih-hsun “AlanC86” Chiang are the Hearthstone Grandmasters Season 2 Week 5 regional champions.

Throughout the weekend, players duked it out against each other in the Conquest format. Unlike the previous weekend, the format involved four decks and four unique Hearthstone classes. Each player banned one of their opponent’s decks during week 5.

Hearthstone Grandmasters 

Lnguagehackr took home the gold in Hearthstone Grandmasters Americas after dueling competitors Frank “Fr0zen” Zhang, Eddie “Eddie” Lui, Facundo “Nalguidan” Pruzzo and Kyle “McBanterFace” Spigelman.

In the final against McBanterFace, lnguagehackr earned the first point against Handlock thanks to his Garrote Rogue deck. Bleed spells and minions went face to achieve lethal. The next game was a Handlock mirror match and McBanterFace tied the score.

This meant lnguagehackr brought his Hybrid Demon Hunter deck into the fray against the mirror. McBanterFace played out the Il’gynoth, Mo’arg Artificer and Felscream Blast combo first, dealing damage to his opponent’s face and achieving lethal with a buffed minion.

To tie the score in the following game, lnguagehackr played Hybrid Demon Hunter against his opponent’s Garrote Rogue. Lnguagehackr became the Hearthstone Grandmasters Season 2 Week 5 champion after defeating his opponent’s Garrote Rogue once more with the help of Handlock.

xBlyzes goes 3-0

As for Hearthstone Grandmasters Europe, xBlyzes earned first place after battling players Elias “Bozzzton” Sibelius, Vladyslav “J4YOU” Krasovskyi and Raphael “BunnyHoppor” Peltzer during the live broadcast.

When xBlyzes’ Demon Hunter deck went up against BunnyHoppor’s Warlock one in the final, xBlyzes achieved lethal with the aid of Il’gynoth, two Mo’arg Artificer minions and Felscream Blast. Next, xBlyzes opted to go with Shadow Priest, which earned him another point against his opponent’s Warlock.

Garrote Rogue then battled against BunnyHoppor’s Quest Shaman for the 3-0 victory, as xBlyzes won with the help of his Bleed spells. This meant xBlyzes became the weekly Hearthstone Grandmasters Europe champion.

Aggro for the win

Over in the Asia-Pacific region, AlanC86 came out on top against Kim “Surrender” Jung-soo, Sato “glory” Kenta and Kim “che0nsu” Cheon Su.

Using Face Hunter, AlanC86 earned the first point in the final against che0nsu’s Handlock deck. Although che0nsu completed the first stage of The Demon Seed questline, it wasn’t enough as AlanC86’s aggressive plays chipped away at his opponent’s health total and he eventually achieved lethal.

In the next game, AlanC86 went with Aggro Druid against che0nsu’s Anacondra Druid. AlanC86 had full board control during the game, dealing damage to his opponent’s face and earning another point.

The final game between AlanC86 and che0nsu featured Garrote Rogue and Anacondra Druid, from each player respectively. AlanC86’s Garrote Rogue earned him the final point for a 3-0 victory at Hearthstone Grandmasters Week 5.
