Non-Mage champions crowned in Hearthstone Grandmasters 2021 Week 3

The crowned classes were Druid, Hunter and Priest.

After dueling all weekend against other competitors, three players won the Hearthstone Grandmasters 2021 Week 3 crown. The weekly champions were Chung “blitzchung” Ng Wai, Joffrey “Swidz” Cunat and Ramiro “Rami94” Ponce.

Unlike the previous week, the specialist format was the focus of these matchups. This meant that instead of the best of five games, it was the best of three using primary, secondary and tertiary decks. These decks also had to be of the same class.

Despite the popularity of Mage decks throughout the weekend, the crowned classes were Druid, Priest and Hunter.

Mage accounted for the majority of chosen classes in Week 3, Day 3 for both Hearthstone Grandmasters Americas and Europe. Meanwhile, no Mage players made it to the semi finals in the Asia-Pacific region.

Instead of Mage for the Asia-Pacific region, it was Druid that came out on top. At the start of Week 3, Day 3, blitzchung went up against Jang “DawN” Hyun Jae’s and won 2-0. Blitzchung dominated the board with buffed minions, which took out not only DawN, but later Liu “Shaxy” Wei-Chieh as well.

When it was time for Swidz’s matches, his Priest variants went up against Zakarya “xBlyzes” Hail’s Mage deck. A key card that won Swidz a point was Mindrender Illucia, which swamped hands and decks with his opponent. This play made xBlyzes’ own Mage spells turn against him.

Swidz then used his opponent’s spell-heavy deck to his advantage again in the deciding game. Ogremancer on Swidz’s side of the board meant that whenever his opponent cast a spell, it summoned a 2/2 Skeleton with Taunt.

When Swidz dueled Jaromír “Jarla” Vyskočil in the finals, Priest won the first game, as Jarla had to decide between using his Mage spells to go face or get rid of Swidz’ buffed minions. In the deciding game, Swidz opted for his tertiary Priest deck. It contained two Ogremancer cards, which once again helped him achieve victory.

As for Rami94, he chose the Hunter class to help him fight for the crown. The aggressiveness of his primary deck allowed him to put pressure on the board while dealing damage to his opponent’s face.

The presence of his Imprisoned Felmaw cards aided in adding pressure. When played, Imprisoned Felmaw stays dormant for two turns. When it awakens, it attacks a random enemy.

Meanwhile, both Facundo “Nalguidan” Pruzzo and Luke “NoHandsGamer” Kooken had to be efficient with their own resources while trying to stop the bleeding.

Hearthstone Grandmasters 2021 Week 3 concluded with champions who did not play Mage, but rather Druid, Priest and Hunter.

As for Week 4, the live broadcasts will resume on May 7 after the Hearthstone Masters Tour Orgrimmar.
