Grayhound defeat TYLOO to qualify for StarLadder Major

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

CSGO fans loved Grayhound’s Ollie “DickStacy” Tierney’s stickers when the Australian team qualified for the IEM Katowice Major in 2019. Well, expect more of the same as the boys from down under have qualified for the upcoming StarLadder Major in Berlin by beating TYLOO 2-1. What’s more, Grayhound have won the Asia Minor and are advancing from first place.

Grayhound gets a second chance

The Katowice Major did not go Grayhound’s way whatsoever. In the initial New Challengers stage, the Australian formation was one of the first to be dropped from the tournament. In their 0-3 score, Cloud9, Vitality, and Fnatic simply dominated Grayhound, making the team look like a pushover.

Perhaps the team will put on a stronger performance this time around. With the old DickStacy stickers already going up in price on the Steam Market, the team is surely going to get a lot of support from the audience.

TYLOO fight on

After a hard-fought battle with the Australians, the Chinese squad is still fighting for the last StarLadder spot from the Asia region. TYLOO will face MVP PK in a winner-takes-all matchup where the loser gets sent home with absolutely nothing.

TYLOO, similarly to Grayhound, was also knocked out at the New Challengers stage in Katowice. The difference being that TYLOO was one of the last teams to pack their bags. Getting off to a fantastic 2-0 start, a surprise upset was in the making. Unfortunately, they did not find their stride at best-of-three matchups and fell 0-2 to NRG and AVANGAR, before being eliminated 1-2 by G2. The team definitely has much to prove, but first, they must overcome MVP PK on Sunday.
