Grand Theft Auto VI confirmed by former Rockstar employee’s resume

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Grand Theft Auto V was published by Rockstar Games and released in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In just a few months, it will be six years since the release. Grand Theft Auto V is one of the best-selling games of all time, with over 100 million copies sold. Despite the game being released long ago and only recently having a remaster update, it still has a passionate fan base. Now, it appears Grand Theft Auto VI is finally in development.

In recent years, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive haven’t released any information about the next iteration. Almost all game franchises want to make the following game better than before, which accounts for why development may have taken so long.

However, one fan found a resume entry for 3D Game Artist Bibin Michael, which claims that he created concept vehicles for both Grand Theft Auto: Online and Grand Theft Auto 6.

Although some of the community reacted to the post with suspicion and doubt, the artist also listed prior roles at Rockstar Games working on Red Dead Redemption 2. This was confirmed via the “Thank You” page on the game’s official website for the developers. In addition, some of the other roles listed on his resume were also factual.

Doubts about an earlier leak

A leak that happened earlier this month by an anonymous European developer claimed that GTAVI would be coming exclusively to the PS5 a month before the next Xbox. Claims about the location of the game were also made in the Pastebin post.

The information provided by this anonymous developer doesn’t exactly match up with this information. There is still a chance that other parts of the leak are genuine because the developer only heard about the details while he was working on a separate game.

With all that has been mentioned, leaks should still be treated as only rumors. Typically, all employees that work on such a project have to sign strict non-disclosure agreements as well. With Grand Theft Auto V‘s success, Rockstar Games is ultimately going to produce a succeeding game title, but no official details have been released.
