Like all Gigantamax Pokémon, Toxtricity will have an exclusive G-Max move. G-Max Stun Shock will be an Electric-type attack that deals damage and poisons or paralyzes opponents.

Pokémon Toxtricity

Who is Toxtricity?

Toxtricity was new to the franchise with Pokémon Sword and Shield. It’s an Electric/Poison-type that has two different forms, Lowkey and Amped form. The form is determined by its nature and will not be changed with Nature Mints. It will be available in both forms in Max Raid Battles.

Toxtricity has had a Gigantamax form in the game’s code since release, but it has been unavailable in Max Raid Battles so far. It appears as bipedal in its standard form, but its Gigantamax form features it down on all fours, resembling a lizard.

Is Toxtricity a good competitive pick?

This Pokémon has seen mixed results so far in Pokémon Sword and Shield. It has a solid 114 Special Attack stat, but it has poor bulk and speed. It also has a four-times weakness to Ground-type attacks, which are popular in both competitive singles and doubles battles.

Toxtricity can work when paired with a support Pokémon like Togekiss, Whimsicott, or Indeedee, who can offer it a Speed boost with Tailwind or protection with Follow Me. Its Gigantamax form should also help it out in VGC format because having a move that poisons or paralyzes both opponents at once should be very valuable in doubles.

How to get G-Max Toxtricity

Once Toxtricity is available, players will need to open the in-game menu, go to “Mystery Gift,” and then click “Get the Wild Area News.” Once this is complete, G-Max Toxtricity should begin appearing in raids.

To beat it, the best option is to gather a group of people and use Ground-type Pokémon. Ground-types will completely resist its Electric-type attacks and will be able to inflict serious damage to it with their attacks. Once it has been defeated, players will have one opportunity to throw a PokéBall and catch it.

Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to get this Pokémon. Remember, however, that it will not be usable on the ranked ladder until a later date.
