North American esports organization FlyQuest has announced the signing of former Counter Logic Gaming mid laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage to its League of Legends roster. He reunites with former teammate Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun, who he competed with while on Misfits during the 2017 season. Together, that lineup went on to make a 2017 World Championships run, but fell short to SK Telecom T1 in the Quarterfinals.

PowerOfEvil leaves Counter Logic Gaming

“When looking at our roster for 2020, we really wanted to focus on versatility, chemistry and synergy. IgNar and WildTurtle form a smart and aggressive bot lane duo that can make plays and affect everyone on the map,” said Anand “Curry” Agarwal, Head Coach at FlyQuest, in a release. “Combine that with the fact that IgNar and POE are excited to play together again and the relationship that V1per and Santorin have built the previous year, we’re excited about our playstyle possibilities moving forward.”

The German player first started competing in League of Legends in 2013, and has since played for organizations like Team Mistral, EYES ON U, Planetkey Dynamics, Unicorns of Love, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Later, the 22-year old also competed for Origen, Misfits Gaming, OpTic Gaming, and Counter Logic Gaming

During the last season, CLG went on to a 7th place finish in the 2019 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Spring Split. The team rebounded to 3rd during the 2019 LCS Summer Split, but fell short to Clutch Gaming at the Summer Playoffs. It tried to earn a Worlds slot at the LCS Regional Finals, but was then again eliminated by Clutch Gaming to end up in 3rd. With the end of his contract, PowerOfEvil was released from the roster.

Joining FlyQuest as mid laner

“Santorin is one of the best junglers in the LCS. The jungle-mid-synergy is super important, especially in the early-to-mid game, and Santorin and I have a great relationship,” said PowerOfEvil. “We play a lot of duo together and share the same views on how to play the map. I’m very excited for this year and to be a part of FlyQuest.”

PowerOfEvil takes over the mid laner position from Eugene “Pobelter” Park, who revealed he wouldn’t be competing in the LCS during 2020. In addition to his synergy with IgNar, he also connects with the other members of the roster that include Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen, Jason “WildTurtle” Tran, and Omran “V1per” Shoura.
