Flashpoint season 1’s official group listings

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

In preparation for the first day of Flashpoint season 1, March 13, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams gathered in the organization’s live Los Angeles studio in order to finalize groups. Group selection started off with the three highest seeds on HLTV.org’s rankings — MAD Lions, Gen.G and FunPlus Phoenix (formerly Heroic’s roster).

Each team is head of their prospective double-elimination group. Each group presented their choice of team captain: Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, and Sam “s0m” Oh, representing MAD Lions, FunPlus Phoenix, and Gen.G, respectively.

Captains shuffled teams into their groups through a repetitive selection process until all groups were full. Adding a twist to the selection process, the teams selected last were given the opportunity to swap groups (if agreed upon by the other teams). Alternatively, they had the option of swapping the team positions in their own group, which would later affect the match-up.

Team representative for c0ntact, Luka “emi” Vuković, decided to keep his team where they were seated. On the other hand, Dignitas swapped Orgless and HAVU for their finals spots. Finally, Chaos was moved from group B over to group C by MIBR to avoid playing Cloud9 early in the group stages.

Phase 1 starts today, March 13, at 1:00 p.m. ET. The entire series will be broadcasted on Flashpoint’s official Twitch channel, FlashpointCS.
