Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

When Nintendo chooses a game for an opening for its first Direct of the year, you know it is going to be a good one. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a continuation of the Fire Emblem series and features all of our favorite characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This Warriors-style action game breathes new life into the series and is scheduled to hit store shelves on June 24.

Splatoon 3

It has been nearly a year since Splatoon 3 was first teased by Nintendo, and Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct proved the publisher has not forgotten about the slippery shooter series. Splatoon 3 will be bringing back a familiar co-op mode with Salmon Run where players will have to take down a terrifying new fishy foe. However, the third game in the Splatoon series still does not have an official release date with an anticipated release sometime this Summer.

Nintendo Switch Sports

Fans of Nintendo will have fond memories of Wii Sports from 2006 when it was released with the console. Half a decade after the Nintendo Switch’s release, fans of the franchise will finally be able to play their favorite sports virtually with this new addition. Nintendo Switch Sports is scheduled to release April 29 with new sports and features coming throughout 2022.

Mario Strikers: Battle League

Mario Golf, Mario Tennis and now, after a long, long wait, Mario soccer! Nintendo revealed Mario Strikers: Battle League as one of the highlights for the direct. The title will be a 5v5 style title that brings in fan favorites from the Mario franchise as playable characters. Players will fight it out on the pitch to score points for their teams when the game releases on June 10.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

The last announcement for the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 did not disappoint as it revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would be coming to the Switch. There have been rumors of a new Xenoblade title coming, and Nintendo confirmed those with the third title in the series scheduled to release in September 2022. It has been five years since we saw the last edition of Xenoblade Chronicles, and fans seem excited for the next release in the series.
