FC Schalke 04 Esports have finalized their roster for 2022, sources told Upcomer on Tuesday. The German organization, now competing in the Prime League, is expected to sign top laner Daniel “Scarface” Aitbelkacem, jungler Ismaïl “Isma” Boualem, mid laner Nicolas “Decay” Gawron, bot laner Belan “TakeSet” Ahour, support Nikos “HungryPanda” Nikolaidis and head coach Christos “Lion” Tsiamis.
After more than four years of competition in the EU LCS/LEC, Schalke 04 Esports announced the sale of their LEC spot to Team BDS on June 29.

The organization came close to qualifying to the League Of Legends World Championship several times, with a notable EU LCS Summer Playoffs second place finish in 2018. However, while competing in the LEC, the organization also had an Academy Team named Schalke 04 Evolution in the Prime League, the German ERL. The organization will continue to compete in League Of Legends as their main lineup will fill in that spot coming into 2022.
To complete the roster build, Lion, who previously coached Unicorns Of Love, will now join Schalke 04 as head coach. Decay, who’s expected to play in the mid lane, also comes from UOL after a second place finish in the PRM Pro Division 2021 Winter Cup. In the top lane, the team have decided to commit to Scarface, who has played for several teams in the Prime League previously. Last year, he played for PENTA 1860, who managed to qualify to the European Master Summer 2021 Main Event.
Isma and TakeSet, who played together with FC Nantes Esports, a team in the LFL second Division, will also join the roster.
Lastly, HungryPanda and Kacper “Czypsy” Zaparucha were the two options for the support position. Schalke 04 decided to commit to HungryPanda, which leaves Czypsy teamless as he tweeted on Monday.
Due to unfortunate circumstances I'm still looking for a team 😮 https://t.co/8rY5kM3BCl
