FaZe Clan knocked Natus Vincere out of ESL Pro League Season 15 on Friday in a clean 2-0 for the international roster. FaZe have become the fourth and final team to advance to the semifinals.

The other semifinalists for ESL Pro League are Ninjas in Pyjamas, ENCE and FURIA Esports. FaZe will play FURIA at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.

“I think FURIA is a very good team,” Finn “karrigan” Andersen, FaZe’s in-game leader, said. “Obviously we need to shut them down… if you don’t do that, and give them momentum, they are a very tough team.”

FaZe Clan now have a clear path to the ESL Pro League Season 15 trophy. The other semifinalists are not seen as top contenders with the possible exception of NiP, who are slated to undergo changes after the event. If FaZe win, they will have taken first place at back-to-back events with IEM Katowice and ESL Pro League. Both count toward the Intel Grand Slam million dollars.

Na’Vi have been the undisputed No. 1 team in the world for almost an entire year, but FaZe are poised to change that and wipe away their difficulties in 2021.

“Last year wasn’t so good, and hopefully this year starts better,” karrigan said. “Thanks to everyone who has kept supporting us through a tough year.”

FaZe Clan overcome Na’Vi at ESL Pro League

The quarterfinals between Na’Vi and FaZe was seen by many as the “true” grandfinals. The top two teams in the world met up early due to the seeding from the group stage. Although FaZe finished with a 2-0 record, Na’Vi did not make it easy. Inferno ended in a 16-11 scoreline, and Dust II ended 16-12.

Helvijs “broky” Saukants, the MVP of IEM Katowice, was FaZe’s top performer from the series. The younger Latvian player continues to impress and could just be Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s next great AWPer, following in the path of Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut.

Håvard “rain” Nygaard also had a fantastic Dust II, which goes to show that even the fourth fragging option on FaZe can pop off and take over a game.
