FaZe Clan announces flag football game before Super Bowl with the NFL

Just before Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles, Brett Favre and Michael Vick captain the two teams

Popular esports organization FaZe Clan has partnered with the National Football League to deliver multiple collaborations in 2022, the organizations announced Tuesday. The first, a flag football game, is before Super Bowl LVI between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams. With NFL legends Brett Favre and Michael Vick as the two teams’ quarterbacks, the teams’ participation will also help donate $25,000 per team to youth sports.

This isn’t the first time FaZe and the NFL have worked together, with NFL Draft events highlighted as one of their former partnerships.

The FaZe NFL flag football teams

This flag football event is part of the Super Bowl Experience Presented by Lowe’s, an NFL interactive football theme park happening just before Super Bowl LVI. The game itself has a broadcast team of Good Morning Football co-host Kyle Brandt and entertainer Desi Banks. That isn’t all for the broadcasting crew, with FaZe co-owner Brian Rafat “FaZe Rug” Awadis and former college football player Donald “Deestroying” De La Haye Jr. joining the team.

As for the teams themselves, FaZe Clan will face off against YouTube creator group A.M.P. The confirmed players on FaZe’s team include Thomas “FaZe Temperrr” Oliveira, Alex
“FaZe Adapt” Prynkiewicz, Kris “FaZe Swagg” Lamberson, FaZe Nate Hill and Kaysan “FaZe Kaysan” Ghasseminejad. That isn’t all, as multi-sport social media influencer Jenna Bandy and female football player Toni Harris are special guests. One team will have Brett Favre as their quarterback, while the other will have Michael Vick.

Ian Trombetta, SVP, Social, Influencer & Content Marketing at the NFL, spoke up on this partnership with FaZe Clan. “Teaming up with FaZe enables us to leverage our platforms to authentically engage with and celebrate the next generation of fans at the intersection of gaming, football, and culture,” said Tombetta. This flag football game is also only the start, as FaZe mentioned more events with the NFL in the future.

The game takes place at 4 PM EST at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The game will be live-streamed on FaZe Clan’s YouTube and Twitch channels.
