He doesn’t belong in a museum anymore! The visual and kit update for Ezreal was just teased by Riot Games, and it is looking cleaner than ever. We can see a lot of League fans wanting to get their hands on it as soon as possible.

When comparing to many of the recent updates Riot has been releasing, Ezreal’s is a bit tamer. Riot Games will be releasing the full change list soon, but it looks like the only change to his abilities is to his W, Essence Flux. If you watch the video, the W is now a large circle that shoots through minions. When it hits an enemy champion, it latches on and marks them. It also looks like you deal extra damage with you hit marked targets with your Mystic Shot and Trueshot Barrage.
Meanwhile, his Mystic Shot, Arcane Shift and Trueshot Barrage look like they’ve only gone through a visual update. We have not been given any details on whether or not Riot will be changing their damage ratios. For changes to his kit, that’s all we have for now but look forward to the next couple of weeks for a champion update spotlight from Riot. Additionally, it is safe to assume that this new Ezreal will be dropping with Patch 8.20 this month.
Skins of the Future!
Also, Ezreal is getting a full visual update to go along with the changes to his W. His skins have been pretty outdated, especially the ones that he would get back when League was just becoming popular. In the age of Odyssey and Star Guardian skins, he was in dire need of a visual upgrade for his skins. Additionally, his ultimate skin, Pulsefire Ezreal will be getting a much-needed update as well. The skin has been the brunt of insults from many League of Legends fans for being so outdated for costing 3250 RP.
Also, Riot is also updating his voice lines and voiceover. Although the actor playing the champion has not been revealed, Riot is already teasing some new lines, like “No applause please! … Okay, maybe just a little bit of thunderous acclaim… A little?” He seems a bit cockier than his original skin and should have multiple special interactions for fans to enjoy.
New Ezreal, New Lore!
With his full update, Ezreal is now getting new lore as a result. Now, Ezreal’s story begins in Piltover where he was raised with a silver spoon in his mouth. Ezreal was a mischievous child, always causing trouble for his teachers or his uncle, Professor Lymere. His parents, on the other hand, were constantly traveling Runeterra, as they were esteemed archeologists. However, one day, they would never return home. Ezreal’s uncle would tell the Prodigal Explorer that his parents must have perished in the desert. Unable to accept this fact, Ezreal would set off to find his parents and explore the world. He would eventually find the gauntlet that gives him his power, and he would continue to explore Runeterra.
