Fans of the survival extraction game Escape From Tarkov have been anxiously waiting for Escape From Tarkov: Arena. Now, the closed beta is almost here. Does that mean there is finally a release date for the game?
Escape From Tarkov: Arena takes the same gritty and realistic feel of EFT but removes the extraction goal and instead has teams gunning each other down in an attempt to capture points similar to Call of Duty. It has received mixed reviews from the FPS community, with some expressing excitement over the EFT vibe carrying over into a shooter while others feel it looks a bit boring compared to existing games in the genre.
For now, however, only time will tell.
Escape From Tarkov: Arena closed beta is here
The closed beta is arriving tomorrow after the Grand Finals of the first-ever Arena esports event at DreamHack Hannover. The Head Eyes Showdown has been showcasing the game in action, featuring top esports organizations like Virtus.pro, who made it to the Grand Finals on December 17.
Lucky players will receive invitations to the closed beta in waves. It’s unclear how many people will be getting an invite, but even if you don’t you can check out gameplay on Twitch. While this will be great insight into Arena’s gameplay, some want to know when they will get to play the game themselves.
Escape From Tarkov: Arena release date
Unfortunately, there is no confirmed release date for Escape From Tarkov: Arena.
For a while, fans speculated that the game would come out earlier in December. But this was dashed when the closed beta was revealed for December 17. Now, some believe it will still be in December, most likely December 22 or 26.
We will have to wait for developers to share an official release date for now.
