Before he was a Twitch mega star, Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm was an employee at Sledgehammer Games. Sledgehammer is responsible for making the Call of Duty titles Advanced Warfare and WWII. According to rumors, WWII may have been their last solo venture for COD. But during his time with the studio, DrDisrespect designed multiple maps for Advanced Warfare‘s multiplayer, including fan-favorite Solar. With this experience under his belt, the Doc took it upon himself to design a map for his favorite Modern Warfare mode, Gunfight.
DrDisrespect designs interesting map for Gunfight
This October, DrDisrespect took part in #Blocktober, which is essentially Doc creating maps for various games. In the latest installment, he created a map from scratch that he feels is worthy enough to be in Modern Warfare.
Gunfight, the all-new 2v2 mode from Infinity Ward, currently has seven — rumored — maps in Modern Warfare for launch. During the Modern Warfare alpha and beta, we saw a total of five Gunfight maps, which were mostly met with positive reactions.
However, it appears DrDisrespect thinks that his map design expertise could improve the pool of Gunfight maps. Here’s what the map looks like, courtesy of DrDisrespect:

Overall, the entire map took around five hours for DrDisrespect to create. Designed using the Black Ops 3 mod tools, the map follows the standard layout for a Gunfight map. Identical spawn sides, some cover on the sides and in the middle, and creative routes are all staples of Infinity Ward’s maps.
While the map does appear to be very well designed, there’s no telling if Infinity Ward would ever consider implementing this into Modern Warfare. Perhaps they could take some inspiration from Doc’s map or consult him on post-launch maps. However, this map is more for the community rather than the developers.
