As Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s release grows nearer, so does the launch of the inaugural season for the Call of Duty League. For the past few weeks, we’ve been getting various roster announcements from a few CDL teams. Although, many still have yet to make any kind of announcement, roster signings or otherwise. However, like most secrets in the gaming industry, nothing stays private for long. Thanks to leaks surfacing from various trademark and domain registrations, we may have an insight as to what several of the CDL teams will be branded as.
Some of the rumored Call of Duty team names and logos
With some of the CDL teams being announced way back in June and July, it’s no surprise they already have branding ideas. While some of the newer teams may not have anything concrete, it appears others do.

Any franchise in the CDL needs to have multiple trademarks, domains, etc. Things such as logos, websites, and team names all need to be filed accordingly so they are able to sell merchandise and operate effectively. It’s in these filings that we find the leaks to their branding.
So far, seemingly seven-to-eight team names and logos have been found online. Whether it be from companies owning certain domains or trademarks being filed, these are official leaks. However, it’s commonplace for franchises to own several identities so they can pick which one suits their needs best.
Here are all of the rumored CDL team names:
- Toronto Ultra
- Los Angeles Guerrillas
- London Ravens
- Dallas Empire
- Florida Mutineers
- Paris Legion
- Los Angeles OpTic
- New York Subliners
We have logos for some of these teams as well, which were filed as trademarks in their respective countries.
FLORIDA MUTINEERS?
A trademark was filed for the name today. Its Esports related, but I can’t find any connection to @MisfitsGG.

I've heard that @CWL_NYC will be called the New York Subliners.
The @subliners account has a CoD profile picture, a trademark was filed on September 13, and the https://t.co/GOiZqIcefn domain was registered on July 21.
This image could well be the logo for the franchise, too. pic.twitter.com/dAiKh46BGR

It’s unclear how accurate some of these logos really are. However, they were all filed as trademarks with the intent to brand themselves as a gaming entity. While it’s totally plausible some organizations could change course, some of these names and logos should come to fruition.
There are still a few teams we’ve heard no announcements from (L.A., Florida, Dallas), but most teams should reveal something before the launch of Modern Warfare. London has a branding-related announcement planned for Oct. 15. Toronto has even announced that they will hold a pre-launch party on Oct. 24, and it’s expected they will announce something CDL-related.
Throughout the next couple of weeks, there should be more roster announcements from CDL organizations. Make sure to keep up with Daily Esports so you don’t miss any news!
