It’s finally June, which means that the first part of Pokémon Sword and Shield‘s expansion pass should come out this month. Right on cue, Pokémon‘s Japanese Twitter account has tweeted that we will get more information about the upcoming DLC tomorrow.
Pokémon’s tweet
For those who can’t speak Japanese, the tweet just says “New information on Nintendo Switch software Pokémon Sword and Shield expansion pass will be released on Tuesday, June 2 at 22:00 (6:00 a.m. PDT).”
While it isn’t specified in the tweet, this news will likely come in the form of a YouTube video on Pokémon‘s official channel. The news will likely include the release date of the first half of the DLC (the Isle of Armor) and more information about its content.

What we know so far
As of right now, we know that the expansion pass will be broken up into two separate expansions. The first expansion should release in June, and the second will arrive in the fall. The expansions will both hold new areas that include new Pokémon and challenges.
While we don’t know exactly which Pokémon will appear in the new expansions yet, we do know that more creatures will join the Galar Pokédex with each expansion. We could find out more about which ones will return tomorrow.
We also know that the DLC will include new Galarian forms, new Legendary Pokémon, and new Gigantamax forms. While we already know many of these from previous reveals, we could learn more here as well.
Lastly, we know about the Tower of Two Fists. This special challenge will allow players to choose one of two paths to evolve Kubfu, one of the new Legendary Pokémon. This will be part of the first expansion in June.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow for all we learn. There’s bound to be some exciting announcements.
