Destiny 2 Moments of Triumph are now available

The next timed event for Destiny 2, Solstice of Heroes, is upon us. As a precursor to the event, Bungie has announced that Moments of Triumph challenges are now available. Destiny 2 has struggled to gain its footing and retain its player base in recent months. Bungie has been stuck in a bit of a rut, and existing in the wake of the juggernaut that is Fortnite is a heavy burden to bear. Destiny 2, as well as its predecessor, was never lacking from a technical standpoint. Both games have shown Bungie’s clear expertise in the shooter genre with excellent and fluid gunplay mechanics. But, as many may know, the title has faltered in its delivery of endgame content and a reluctance to innovate. Fans want to see something new. They also want a reason to stick it out, and the current endgame progression scenario hasn’t been working.

Moments of Triumph are the prelude to the next big event to help sway players to come back to the Bungie servers. The developer provided the details on their latest official blog posting. The event offers a set of new challenges with promises of rich rewards (as most Destiny 2 events do). While the event is live as of this moment, not everything is accessible yet. There is currently a limited number of challenges available now that players can engage in to earn Triumph Points that will unlock rewards. A deeper well of challenges will be offered in-game starting on July 31, 2018, at the beginning of the Solstice of Heroes event.

Solstice of Heroes Reward Tiers

At the start of Solstice of Heroes, progression tracking will be available towards Moments of Triumph. As Triumphs are completed, your score will increase and various rewards will be unlocked. Below is a breakdown of the rewards earned at different thresholds as detailed in Bungie’s official blog post:

  • Complete any Triumph – Get your tracking emblem for Moments of Triumph
    • This emblem will show total Triumph Points earned
  • 125 points – Get the Right Choice, a Legendary Ghost Shell
  • 250 points – The Solstice of Heroes Moments of Triumph T-shirt offer becomes available
  • 300 points – Get Comrades in Arms, A Legendary Sparrow
  • 400 points (all) – Get the Eternally Triumphant emblem upgrade

While Bungie noted that the T-shirt redemption is live, codes to secure a shirt won’t be available until the start of the Solstice of Heroes event on July 31st. Additionally, don’t confuse earning a code with a free t-shirt. This is merely a code that enables you to customize and purchase one with real currency.

On July 17th, Bungie will divulge information about additional rewards during the Solstice of Heroes event. Additionally, there will be many more details for content to come as Destiny 2’s second year approaches in September. So stay tuned.
