DAMWON Gaming 2020 Worlds skins revealed | League of Legends

The skin line to celebrate the 2020 League of Legends World champion, DAMWON Gaming now known as DWG KIA, is now officially revealed. This reveal occurred during the LCK broadcast today, April 3, coming seven months after DAMWON Gaming’s victory in China. After a long period of waiting, fans now have the first look at the skins of the 2020 World Champions. The skins commemorate Damwon’s feat in lifting the Summoners Cup over Suning Gaming at the Pudong Football Stadium in Shanghai at last year’s Worlds finals.

Details of DAMWON Gaming World Skins

The five champions receiving a 2020 World Championship skin include Kennen, Nidalee, Twisted Fate, Leona and Jhin. These skins will commemorate the achievements of Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon, Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu, Heo “ShowMaker” Su, Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun, and Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee respectively.

Furthermore, the skin’s blue and silver color showcase the colors of DAMWON Gaming before their 2021 rebrand. Moreover, all five champions are still played in the current meta, especially Twisted Fate. All these champions significantly contributed to DAMWON’s success at Worlds 2020. Asides from Jhin, all these champions are receiving a Worlds Skin for the first time ever. Former SK Telecom T1 player, Bae “Bang” Jun-ski chose Jhin when his team Worlds in 2016.

In 2021, DAMWON Gaming have shown no signs of slowing down as they continue to dominate the LCK. Although they lost Nuguri to Fun Plus Pheonix, they still look strong as ever with Kim “Khan” Dong-ha taking the top lane role.  The team is currently through to the finals of the LCK Spring Playoffs after a 3-0 win against Hanwha Life Esports. In addition, DAMWON is the eighth World Champion to receive team skins, joining the likes of FPX  and T1.

Riot Games is yet to release information on the availability of the skins or how they will function in-game. For now, players must wait for more information to come in the next months. However, following the timeline for older Worlds Skins, players may expect the DAMWON Gaming skins before the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational. Worlds skins usually appear in Leagues’ item store at the end of April with each costing 1,350 RP.
