Season 3 for COD Mobile was revealed today by Tencent Games in a Reddit blog post. The third iteration for the hit mobile title will feature a new Battle Pass and additional content for multiplayer, battle royale, and zombies. A part of this content is the famed Modern Warfare 2 map Scrapyard, which will arrive in multiplayer with the new season. There’s also a new mode for multiplayer and tons of challenges for each aspect of COD Mobile. Season 3 is set to kick off in mid-January, though the exact date and time are unknown.
Scrapyard releasing for Season 3 of COD Mobile
The first two seasons of COD Mobile have gone over great with the community. While there have been some hiccups with the loot crates and bugs, the general consensus has been positive. So, the expectations for Season 3 are pretty high for fans of the game.
However, when an update features the map Scrapyard, not much else matters. One of the most beloved maps in Call of Duty history, fans have anticipated this release for some time. Here’s what COD Mobile said about the Scrapyard’s debut:
Second, we have Scrapyard. This is a recreation of the classic three lane Modern Warfare 2 map. It is a medium sized map that provides plenty of opportunities for close to mid-range combat and promises plenty of action. This will be the first Multiplayer map to release in Season 3.
Also coming with Scrapyard is a brand new multiplayer mode, Rapid Fire. In this fast-paced experience, players will be equipped with unlimited ammo and grenades with sped-up Operator skills. Rapid Fire sounds like it will play great on the smaller maps in the game.
Beyond that, fans can expect a new Battle Pass, along with general weapon balancing and bug fixes. As mentioned earlier, this update should come sometime in the next week or so.
