The Trophy System will return to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, according to leaks on Sunday. The popular equipment, whose absence from Call of Duty: Vanguard has frustrated many players, destroys up to three nearby projectiles and helps protect players from opponents spamming grenades.
While Activision have yet to confirm a release date for the game, leakers have been able to provide some sparse details on what fans can expect. The fact that this game is being developed by Infinity Ward, the team behind 2019’s Modern Warfare, has meant many similar weapons, equipment and features are likely to return in Modern Warfare II.
I can confirm that the Trophy System is in MWII. Inshallah. pic.twitter.com/qRlwLxRXeZ

@TheGhostOfHope posted a picture of the Trophy System from Modern Warfare (2019) alongside news that it will return in Modern Warfare II. In that game, the Trophy System was a Field Upgrade and received a ton of usage in respawn game modes such as Hardpoint and Domination. Fans weren’t thrilled they had to pick between Dead Silence and the Trophy System for their Field Upgrade, however.
In Modern Warfare II, it’s unclear how the Trophy System will be classified in multiplayer. After the experience of Vanguard, though, fans might not care all too much. Vanguard has numerous powerful grenades and other equipment that have few counters. With a Trophy System in place, that likely won’t be the case in Modern Warfare II.
It should be noted that aspects of multiplayer in MWII can and will change between now and launch. So, while the leak states the Trophy System is in the game now, that doesn’t mean it’s inclusion permanent.
