Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 3 is just hours away. However, the weapon tuning update is already here, as Treyarch decided to release the update and other content ahead of the season’s launch. Season 3 is still set to release on Thursday, April 22 at 12 a.m. EST.
The season’s weapon tuning is already quite polarizing. Some players love the changes that the developers made, especially to specific attachments. Conversely, some aren’t as happy about seeing their favorite weapon or category nerfed to the ground.
Below, the highlights from the weapon tuning can be found. The entire patch notes are viewable on Treyarch’s website.
Black Ops Cold War Season 3: weapon tuning patch notes
The list of weapon changes for Season 3 is extensive. Treyarch altered almost every weapon class, putting an emphasis on light machine guns, in particular. Light machine guns are no longer the overpowered beasts they were in seasons past, which is music to some players’ ears.
Aside from that, some assault rifles received tuning, as did the submachine class. For example, movement speed across the board for SMGs was nerved. This especially sparked controversy in the professional scene. Also rounding out the highlights of the update, the AUG received a hefty and long overdue nerf.
