Popular online tournament website Battlefy has announced it is teaming up with MSI to introduce the 2020 Gaming Arena Series. Set to take place throughout 2020, the Gaming Arena Series will feature both online and LAN events with a $50,000 prize pool. In addition to that, MSI is offering up some of its famous gaming accessories and components like graphics cards and laptops. There’s no set start date as of yet, but the events should start relatively soon. The esports series will consist of the following titles: Modern Warfare, Overwatch, League of Legends, and Fortnite.

MSI and Battlefy come together

MSI is one of the most trusted names in all of gaming. The company is most famed for its stellar PC components and gaming laptops. However, they’ve not really had a chance to step into the esports scene, until now.

Battlefy is one of the top tournament websites for various esports titles. So, essentially, MSI will offer up the prizes and Battlefy will organize the events through its website. The events will be separated into two categories: the MSI Weekly Esports Series and the MSI Esports Champion Series.

The Weekly Series is your standard online tournament. Players of all skill levels can compete, but only the winners of the event will qualify for the next series, being the Champion Series. This event will not be online, but on LAN at major events like PAX or perhaps even TwitchCon.

However, for those not fortunate enough to secure a qualification, every player who enters a tournament will be awarded MSI Reward Points. These points can be used to cash in for amazing prizes like a GeForce RTX 2070 GPU. It’s unknown how many points are needed for the rewards, but it’s likely to be a steep number.

If you want to check out the format for the online events, head on over to Battlefy.com. Here you can find the competitive hub for MSI’s esports series, which was designed and is operated by Battlefy. The MSI Gaming Arena Series is only available in the United States.
