Former Andbox player Aaron “b0i” Thao has been listed under 100 Thieves’ roster for the upcoming VALORANT Championship Tour Stage 3 Challengers 1 tournament.
B0i is set to potentially join the team as a sixth man, one source told Upcomer on Wednesday.
It’s unclear if b0i will replace a team member at the time of publication.
He has been without a team since April following the conclusion of the Stage 2 Challengers Finals. Andbox was defeated by Version1 and finished in joint last place with XSET. Version1 and Sentinels would later represent North America at Stage 2 Masters.
The 24-year old performed at the highest level with Andbox and competed against the best in the region. During the VCT Stage 2 Challengers 2 event, b0i, alongside the rest of Andbox, finished in fourth place, just behind Sentinels, Cloud9 Blue and NRG.
B0i is yet to play with another roster since his tenure with Andbox, however. This would be his second professional VALORANT team, if he was to join the 100 Thieves roster.
100 Thieves have continued to perform recently, however. The organization qualified for VCT Stage 3 Challengers 1 following a successful Open Qualifier run. 100 Thieves took down Noble, who had recently defeated favorites TSM, to qualify.
100 Thieves took down SoaR, who had performed relatively well at the tier two level, in the same tournament.
If b0i joins 100 Thieves as a sixth player the organization would likely field the following roster:
- Spencer “Hiko” Martin
- Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella
- Joshua “steel” Nissan
- Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk
- Ethan “Ethan” Arnold
- B0i (inactive)
- Quan “dicey” Tran (inactive)
On reddit, 100 Thieves’ GM of Esports Maelk responded to the report about b0i joining the team: “b0i is helping us out behind the scenes for the duration of Masters 3 and is not meant to replace anyone.”
