As announced by both parties, the fashion giant Armani will be entering esports in a partnership with the Italian Mkers esports organization. Armani Exchange, their sub-brand, will be the official jersey patron for the team in the 2019/2020 season. This will be the company’s first venture into esports.

Mkers confirmed it in a post on their official website, where they shared their thoughts on it. Paolo Cisario, the CEO of Mkers, noted how proud they are to be the first esports team chosen by such a prestigious brand. He adds that this is a reward for all the effort they have put in the project. Lastly, he says that this gives them much-needed credibility as an esports team. Co-founder Thomas De Gasperi further noted that this marks an important step in their path towards becoming a global esports organization.

Lastly, the post showed previews of the Mkers players wearing the Armani jerseys. The jerseys feature a large Armani Exchange logo at the front, with a slightly smaller Mkers logo above it. Another A|E logo can be found on the back along with the player’s name.

Armani made the partnership public on Twitter, posting a video showing off the new jerseys. Furthermore, they added that Mkers will be their global Armani Exchange ambassador in the world of esports.

Mkers began as a startup with players in Fifa and MotoGP. Founded in 2017, the team currently has players in Fifa, Pro Evolution Soccer, MotoGP, and Fortnite. Furthermore, they also have an Overwatch and a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team. They also have rosters in Street Fighter V, Rocket League, Clash Royale, and some other esports.
