The All-Time Melee Ranking has been updated to include Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament results through early 2020. “Pikachu942” revealed the new list on her personal blog on March 31.
Pikachu942 and Anokh “Edwin Budding” Palakurthi first created the All-Time Melee Ranking as a top 100 list in 2018. The project aimed to subjectively rank all of the best players throughout Super Smash Bros. Melee‘s competitive history. Pikachu942 created an updated top 50 in 2019. A closer look at the All-Time Melee Ranking
Even after a year and a half of inactivity, Armada has retained his top spot on the All-Time Melee Ranking. Armada is renowned for his eight-year streak of only losing to players ranked in the top 6. This streak was broken by Swedish Delight at Evo 2018, shortly before Armada’s retirement.
Hungrybox has slowly climbed up the ranks since the first ranking released in 2018. He now stands as the second-best Super Smash Bros. Melee player of all time. Hungrybox is ranked No. 1 on the MPGR 2019 and has been No. 1 since the end of 2017.
With their strong results in the past year, Zain and aMSa have made noticeable moves up the Melee Ranking. Zain rose 5 spots to No. 15, while aMSa rose 6 spots to No. 32. Drephen also rose 5 spots to reach No. 34. In addition, Swedish Delight has made his debut in the all-time top 50.
