One of the biggest change-ups in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer from previous years is how the perks work. As we explained in another article, perks are now separated by different categories. Players start out with two base perks, which are permanently equipped for players in each match. However, then there are the Bonus and Ultimate perks, both of which need to be earned throughout the course of a match. Basically, players will end up with four perks at the end of a match, but only start with two.
Through the gameplay at Call of Duty Next, we were able to see the full list of perks in the Modern Warfare 2 beta. It’s possible more will be added for the full launch of the game, but these are what we have access to right now. In total across every category, there are 20 perks in the Modern Warfare 2 beta. There are eight in the base category, and six each in the Bonus and Ultimate categories.
The Bonus and Ultimate perks are more tailored to a player’s overall gameplay, while the base perks are fairly standard in multiplayer. Below, players can see all of the perks in Modern Warfare 2 separated by their category.

Out of these these perks, a couple of them stand out. The first is Survivor in the Ultimate category, which looks to be a new form of Last Stand. Last Stand was a deathstreak in previous titles where players fall to their backs with a weapon when they’ve been shot. This gives them a chance to kill person that shot them before they bleed out and die. The second noteworthy perk is Blind’s Eye, which basically gives players the classic mini-map. Without Blind’s Eye, players won’t see enemy pings on the map when they fire an unsuppressed weapon. When you have Blind’s Eye on, though, you will see their pings, much like the Radar perk from Vanguard.
It’s worth noting that some of these perks and what they do could change between now and Oct. 28. For now, though, that’s all we have on the perks in Modern Warfare 2.
