What’s new in Wild Rift Patch 3.0

One of the biggest additions to Wild Rift with the new patch is the return of voice chat. However, the voice chat will only be available as a test version with players’ premade teams. Riot admits that it will closely monitor this test version in the Americas before making it available for other regions.

Moreover, the Ultra Rapid Fire mode will also return with a new year thematic to give it a festive look. There are also changes to gifting friends in Wild Rift to tackle fraudulent purchases. Now, daily gifting is capped at 2 per day with a minimum two-week friend requirement.

There is also a price increase to the Edge of Night item to encourage more farming and reduce early game dominance. Monsters like Baron that level up in combat will no longer gain current health from doing so to avoid players missing smites.

Champion Buffs and Nerfs

Wild Rift Patch 3.0 comes with a lot of nerfs to some jungle, Baron and Dragon lane champions. Miss Fortune’s nerfs come as no surprise, as the marksman has remained a popular Dragon lane champion with previous buffs. Patch 3.0 will reduce Miss Fortune’s bonus movement speed gained over time and total bonus movement speed.

Furthermore, both Tryndamere and Jax are among the champions nerfed to reduce their dominance in the jungle. In Patch 3.0 Jax’s clear speed is reduced but his health regeneration is increased to improve his play in the solo lane.  Meanwhile, the cooldown reduction Tryndamere gains towards Spinning Slash will no longer exist when he lands critical strikes against monsters. Also, Dr Mundo’s base health regeneration will be reduced to 9 while his health regeneration per level will now be 0.68.

Ezreal, Morganna and Riven will also receive buffs. Both Ezreal and Morganna will receive ability buffs to help them effectively perform in Dragon lane and jungle respectively. Riot also fixed the bug with Morgana’s Dark Binding.

Additionally, the  Lunar Banquet event will begin on Jan.26 with more information to follow soon. Wild Rift Patch 3.0 will be available for players from 7 p.m. ET on Jan. 19., according to the official patch schedule.
