Conversion Kits are one of the new additions to multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. They are only available for a select-few weapons in the Gunsmith, but they completely change up how those guns behave.
During the Modern Warfare 3 beta, we got to experience two of the Conversion Kits, both of which are in the full game. However, in addition to those two, there are also four other Conversion Kits that are featured in multiplayer at launch. You are able to unlock the Conversion Kits by either completing a specific challenge in the Gunsmith or finishing a Weekly Challenge in multiplayer.
Of course, you need to know what Conversion Kits are able to be unlocked before you start thinking about how to unlock them. Below, I will list all six current Conversion Kits included in MW3 multiplayer.
List of all Conversion Kits in Modern Warfare 3
In case you’re slightly confused about Conversion Kits work in MW3, let me give you a brief explanation of the feature. Conversion Kits are extra attachments on certain guns that only become available after you reach the max level for that weapon and complete a specific challenge. Once you complete those steps, you can use the Conversion Kit, which changes the weapon into something entirely different.
Alongside the Conversion Kit, you can still use four other attachments on your loadout for that weapon. Although, with the kit equipped, new attachments might also become available, which further changes the loadout possibilities.

As MW3 progresses, new Conversion Kits will be introduced. For example, the recent Season 1 update in MW3 introduced nine additional Conversion Kits. These new kits will first be unlockable through completing Weekly Challenges and then can be unlocked through standard weapon challenges once the weekly timer has passed. It’s also possible Conversion Kits will be automatically unlocked if you purchase certain bundles in the store or earn a specific tier on a season’s Battle Pass.
