AGO and MAD Lions have come out on top in the European IEM Katowice Open Qualifier. This has qualified both CSGO teams for the European closed qualifier of the Katowice event. OG and North, despite being the favorites, have been knocked out prematurely.
Polish AGO strive for home turf showing
x-kom AGO esports, headlined by Damian “Furlan” KisÅ‚owski, have successfully qualified for the closed qualifier after defeating Sinners, OG, and finally Hard Legion. Surprisingly enough, their first matchup was the closest, as Sinners put up quite the fight with AGO squeezing past the Czech team on Dust2 with a 16-13 score. The Polish team then went on to upset OG on Inferno after an impressive t-side, resulting in a 16-10 scoreline. Finally, AGO defeated Hard Legion in a best-of-three matchup easily, 16-5 on Inferno and then 16-10 on Dust2, an impressive showing from the Polish lineup.

AGO will now face G2 in the closed qualifier of the event with three spots for the actual IEM Katowice event in late February.
MAD Lions impress by winning Danish derby
MAD Lions, led by Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen breezed through the qualifier as well. With wins over Winstrike, Apeks, and North, the semi-final derby was the most impressive. North came into the match as the favorite, following a restructure of the organization. The best-of-three matchup went way too smoothly for MAD Lions. On their map pick, Overpass, the underdog team finished things off rather swiftly at a 16-8 scoreline. Mirage, map pick of North, was supposed to be a walk in the park for them. An upset crept in, however, with MAD Lions becoming an impenetrable force on their ct-side. The underdogs won the map 16-4, denying North of a chance to qualify for IEM Katowice.
2-0 vs @TheNorthIsHere and we win the IEM Katowice Open Qualifier.
So happy with the team performance and our composure throughout the whole qualifier, tomorrow we start the grind for the Closed Qualifier!
LETS GO! @Bubzkji @acoRCS @hundencsgo @SjuushCSGO @roeJcsgo #goMAD
