Riot Games announced the League of Legends 2021 World Championship schedule, including the entire Play-In and Group Stage schedule. The start of Worlds, on Oct. 5, will be headlined by Hanwha Life Esports vs. LNG Esports. It will also showcase a mini reunion of the old Griffin lineup.
The action will start on the first day with HLE and LNG and continue with seven other matches that day. The Play-In Stage will feature eight games across both first days with four final games on the third day to complete the round-robin. The following two days will consists of two five-game series to determine which teams will move on to the main event.
The main event will then start on Oct. 11 with DWG KIA taking on FunPlus Phoenix in the first match. The Group Stage will feature eight games for the first three days and then six for the following four days, as the second round-robin begins. Then, the tournament will transition to the playoffs on Oct. 22. Fans will be treated to one best-of-five series each day until the grand final on Nov. 6.
