Season 10 of League of Legends

The official League of Legends Twitter revealed the update with two images. The first showcases Noxian dreadnought Urgot channeling his chains to capture an opponent with the text, “In 5 days, we break them.” The second image reveals the beginning of the season as Jan. 10, which is the same date that all players will receive a soft reset for their competitive ranks.

Players will receive an initial rank from their first ranked game. A new rank will be later determined based on performance from the League of Legends preseason period and their season 10 placement matches. A total of 10 placement matches will earn players League Points, and the completion of eight of them will unlock a player’s rank to others.

Start of a new year

League of Legends patch 10.1 will release just two days before the start of season 10. One of the long-awaited updates is the addition of criminal underworld leader Sett. Various new cosmetics will also arrive, including the Mecha Kingdoms skin line with Sett, Draven, Garen, Leona, and Jax, and Diana, Olaf, and Trundle are receiving Dragonslayer skins.

Players still have a few days left to check off their preseason matches. The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) will start around two weeks after the start of season 10, with regions like Europe beginning at approximately the same time frame.

However, the LPL (China) starts earlier at only three days after the new season’s release and LCK (Korea) in February instead. What are you most excited about? Let us know, and keep up with Daily Esports for all of your League of Legends coverage.
