Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard Season 3 is on the horizon, as the official Call of Duty Twitter account announced a start date of April 27 alongside a cinematic trailer.
Season 2 has been around since February, so players have been without new content and updates since then. But while this date is confirmed in principle, the update for either Vanguard or Warzone could be delayed if the developers feel the patch isn’t ready. This happened with Season 2 Reloaded of Warzone, for example.

The Season 3 update in Warzone will fix mechanics like directional footsteps and implement weapon changes, but it will mainly include the Season 3 Battle Pass, which is shared between Vanguard and Warzone. The Battle Pass will include several Operator skins, two new weapons, multiplayer content for Vanguard and other cosmetics.
Speaking of Vanguard, the official release date for Season 3 is still the 27, but the actual update for the season will likely release one day earlier. This update will bring fixes and other changes to Vanguard multiplayer and Zombies. The new gameplay content, like the maps and weapons, should also be available in private matches.
As of right now, it’s not clear what kind of content will come to Vanguard and Warzone with the release of Season 3. Activision will presumably release the roadmap later this week, which outlines what content is coming when. After that, the content for Season 3, as well as the official dates for the individual updates, will be fully confirmed.
