Welcome to another special episode of Top Tier. With the 2021 League of Legends World Championship about to start, we decided to rank the top 20 players attending the event. Hosts Tyler “Fionn” Erzberger, Nick Ray and Parkes Ousley were joined by special guest host and LEC specialist Tom Matthiesen.
Now, when it comes to ranking every League of Legends player, it’s important to not let your regional basis effect your decisions. A lot of us would like to pretend that players from the LCS winning team 100 Thieves need to be in the Top 20. But that’s just not the case. The same can be said for the LEC’s championship side MAD Lions. Sure, Marek “Humanoid” Brázda is the best mid laner is the West, but how does he stack up against LCK giants like DWG KIA’s Heo “ShowMaker” Su or Gen.G Esports’ Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong? Not to mention the greatest player of all time, the Unkillable Demon King himself, T1’s Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok.
So, when we are ranking every League of Legends player from Worlds 2021, will your favorite LCS player make the top 5? No, probably not. But you can get ready for Worlds as we separate the gods from the kings. Who will be at the top and who will disappoint? Find out on this week’s Top Tier.
