Vancouver Titans’ success

“It’s been an amazing ride into an incredible space and we couldn’t be more proud of our Titans. On that, the Titans and I think I speak for everyone at Canucks Sports and Entertainment. We look at this as more as a family and it really is from the coaching staff – all the way down to all of our players,” said Holloway. “The perseverance, the resilience, the hard work, and the dedication. It’s just possible even in Vancouver. Special shout out to Haksal to congratulate him for winning rookie of the year, and the incredible season.”

The Vancouver Titans currently have a full Korean roster and hold the record for the longest match win streak in the Overwatch League. The team finished first in the 2019 Overwatch League Regular Season, but they have a tough opponent in the Grand Finals. The Vancouver Titans lost to the San Francisco Shock in the Stage 2 Grand Finals Playoffs along with a match at the Kit Kat Rivalry Weekend. However, the Titans have also emerged victorious against the Shock in the Stage 1 Grand Finals Playoffs and Week 2 of Stage 1.

Both teams recently played against the New York Excelsior, but the Shock beat them 4 – 0 while the Titans only managed a 4 – 3 win. This is similarly showcased against the Los Angeles Gladiators, where the Shock defeated the LA team 4 – 0 and the Titans lost two maps before securing the victory. All that said, only time will tell which team will hoist the Overwatch League trophy in a match that will go down in history.

Support from fans

“Special thank you to our partners at Luminosity and Enthusiast, especially Adrian Montgomery and Steve Maida who had the vision of acquiring a preassembled team that’s always kind of been that underdog and play with a big, big chip on their shoulder,” continued Holloway. “And then last but not least, it starts and ends there with our fanbase, not just in Vancouver that’s been incredibly supportive in our watch parties, but around the globe. It’s something that’s really unique, I think, to Esports and in the Overwatch League, and truly incredible.”

“So thank you very much. And we look forward to hosting you in Vancouver next year. So here comes, you know, 20 teams, 4 stages, 280 matches later, and one champion on Sunday. So we’re looking forward to it and thank you very much.”

Recently, Enthusiast Gaming finished a merger with Aquilini GameCo and Luminosity. It has become one of the largest gaming properties in the world, according to a new Comscore evaluation. The Vancouver Titans is one of the esports teams that the company now has an ownership and management stake in.
