Valorant has launched a massive patch to coincide with the worldwide launch. Patch 1.0 features qualify-of-life updates, Agent adjustments plus new Agent Reyna, the addition of a new Spike Rush game mode, map changes, and new map Ascent. Valorant has already launched in Korea, Asia-Pacific, and OCE, which means regions that are still waiting can see the updates beforehand.

Patch 1.0 Agent adjustments and Reyna

Omen is one of the five Agents receiving updates to his abilities this patch. His Dark Cover controls have been updated so Omen can increase smoke distance with primary fire and decrease with secondary. Omen’s teleport ability, Shrouded Step, is now visible to him on the map. The teleport will also receive an in-world indicator of where he’s targeting when his vision is obstructed.

Phoenix will be receiving heavy buffs to his abilities this patch. His Blaze ability duration has been increased from 6 to 8 seconds with buffs to healing and damage per second. Phoenix’s blinding ability max duration has been changed from 0.8 to 1.1 seconds. Additionally, his Run It Back ultimate will now automatically reload all weapons on respawn.

Valorant has opted to make changes to Raze, Jett, and Sage as well. In addition to these Agent adjustments, the game will also be welcoming a previously discussed 11th Agent, Reyna.

Valorant map updates, Ascent introduction, and Spike Rush mode

Riot Games wanted to ensure that maps felt balanced on release. Because of that, Split has received a major update. Split’s mid chokepoint always felt cramped and hard to break when you’re on the attacking side. Valorant saw this and took down the wall on the right side of the chokepoint to open it up. Haven and Bind will also be receiving minor updates that have fixed various exploits. Valorant map changes

In addition to the map changes, we will also be seeing a new map in rotation. According to the patch, “Ascent is a map set in Italy that features a large, open middle area that both teams can skirmish over. Mid is a playground for diverse ability use and successfully controlling the area opens additional routes for Attackers to both Spike sites.” Valorant will also be gaining a fast-paced new game mode in beta, Spike Rush, which has yet to receive in-depth details.

Make sure to check out the rest of the 1.0 patch notes on Riot Games’ website.
