VALORANT Champions opening ceremony will feature Zedd, Grabbitz and more

VALORANT fans will get the same treatment at League of Legends fans in their big international tournament

To kick off the final day of VALORANT Champions, Riot Games has revealed the tournament’s musical lineup for its opening ceremony, which will include Zedd, Pvris, Rezz and Grabbitz. The acts will start at noon ET on Sunday on the official VALORANT broadcast.

This will mark the first musical guest appearance at a VALORANT event and at the biggest tournament of the year. Zedd and Pvris have both worked with Riot before on the company’s League of Legends World Championship anthems in 2016 and 2021, respectively.

Zedd also has a line of skins in VALORANT that feature music and special effects on kills.

Rezz has yet to work with Riot Games, but has collaborated with Grabbitz on multiple occasions. Grabbitz composed the VALORANT Champions anthem, “Die For You,” released before the event. The song can be heard in the waiting room between matches of the tournament or when players use the Champions skin and earn the final kill in a round.

Details on what the acts will perform or whether they will show up at the Berlin stage live have yet to be revealed. If Riot takes the same route as Worlds 2021, the VALORANT Champions opening ceremony should be a prerecorded show implemented into the live broadcast.

If the opening ceremony follows the theme of the Grabbitz music video, fans could expect a 90s anime inspired prerecorded set with characters from the game implemented into the show. Previous Worlds opening shows have largely neglected the players involved in the tournament or the history of the esport. However, VALORANT’s operations and creative teams have been different from their League of Legends counterparts and may buck that tradition for a more inclusive show.
