Aui_2000 will coach Tundra Esports for the 2021-22 season
Tundra Esports made a splash last year during the Western Europe regional qualifier for the International 10. The team clicked at the right time and made a run all the way to the grand final, but lost to OG Esports in a 3-2 series. Tundra Esports were most well known for their innovation during the regional qualifier. Leon “Nine” Kirilin popularized Winter Wyvern as a core during the time, playing the hero in the midlane. Despite losing the regional qualifier, fans and analysts had high hopes for this team coming into next season. The team is led by Adrian “Fata” Trinks, a seasoned captain who now has the chance to regale his glory days with a new team.
Aui_2000’s addition to the team could be the final piece to their success. An experienced coach and ex-player, Aui_2000 has coached teams such as Forward Gaming, Fnatic, and Newbee. He is also one of the few International winners that chose to become a coach and will bring his expertise to Tundra’s relatively young lineup. Just like any coach, fans should expect him to lift the burden off of Fata when drafting and to inject new ideas that Tundra Esports has not thought of before. Aui_2000 is one of the most innovative players to grace the scene, popularizing strategies such as Naga Siren and Techies in the support position during his International winning years in 2015 and 2016.
The upper-division of the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit begins 12 p.m. EST on Tuesday. Tundra Esports will face Alliance in their first match of the year.
