TSM enter the Dota Pro Circuit with Team Undying pickup

A ray of hope for the Dota scene after months of negative news

TSM are making their entry into the Dota Pro Circuit by picking up Team Undying, the second-place team in North America. Team Undying formed during the first DPC in 2021-2022 and have been at the top of the North American standings ever since.

In 2021, Team Undying were led by veteran captain David “MoonMeander” Tan in the support position. He was backed by another veteran support player in Kim “DuBu” Doo-young. These two made the core, and the rest of the team were young players who had just entered the Dota scene. They were rounded out by Jonathan Bryle “bryle” Santos De Guia, Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek and Enzo “Timado” Gianoli. The combination of veteran and young talent has brought the unsponsored squad to great heights.

Even in their debut season, Team Undying were already dominating the North American DPC. During the entirety of 2021, Undying were always in contention for the top spot in the region against Quincy Crew and Evil Geniuses. However, they were consistently one win away from making a major.

Team Undying’s opportunity would come during the final regional qualifier for The International 10, where they defeated every other North American team in order to make it into the biggest tournament in Dota history.

On the final day of the International 10 group stages, Undying barely lost their place in the Upper Bracket. They would go on to lose a best-of-one to Fnatic, eliminating them from the tournament. Despite an early exit at 13th-16th place, the overall impression of Undying was that they were one of the strongest teams in the North America DPC.

The TSM acquisition has been in the works for months. Dota fans have always questioned when the premier North American organization would pick up a team. A new organization entering Dota is a ray of hope after months of negative news that included a cancellation of the most recent Winter Major.
