OpenAI, the non-profit AI research company that was co-founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman, has already made a name for itself in the Dota 2 scene. Last year, it was a 1v1 bot, and now, it’s an entire team.

At this point, the OpenAI Five team has probably done hundreds of years of training against itself, learning more about Dota 2 with every game, and bringing more efficiency to their plays. Last year, the top mid players faced off against OpenAI’s 1v1 bot, but even the best of the best were unable to beat it. Even Miracle-, the mid player from Team Liquid who is regarded as the best mid, confessed that he could never beat the bot in a 1v1 situation.

Here’s the interview that was posted by Dota 2 Maincast, where Miracle- talked about how he could never beat the bot.

So, following Miracle’s words, the matches will be a sight to see. And don’t worry if you miss the live stream for a day. OpenAI Five will be playing for three days!

When OpenAI Will Be Playing

OpenAI will be playing for a total of three days. The first day being today.

Make sure you don’t miss the stream! The rest of the games will be in the following days.

Main Stage Schedules Today

First of all, are the two elimination games. VGJ.Storm and Winstrike will be facing off against each other for their spot at TI8. Similarly,  Team Secret will be going against Vici Gaming as well. There’s no way to sugarcoat it, two of the four teams will be eliminated from TI8 today.

The action won’t be ending even after the OpenAI game. Afterward, Liquid and LGD, twi of the biggest monsters in the Dota scene will be playing.

Liquid moved forward in the first day of TI8 after beating Optic Gaming 2-0. And LGD also proved how strong they are, pushing VP into a 2-0 defeat.

So far, all of the games in the upper bracket have been 2-0. Which is kind of a bummer, since we won’t get a lot of fantasy points for the games. However, the same may not be the case of Team Liquid and PSG.LGD.

OG Faces EG: Brothers Pinned Against Each Other

Shortly after the OpenAI game, OG and EG will be facing off against each other. Of course, this is going to be a hard one to watch. N0tail and Fly, the big duo that the entire Dota 2 scene knows about, will be fighting each other. Here’s n0tail expressing his feelings on the matter.

This is quite sad to watch since we all know how amazingly great fly and n0tail were together as players. On the bright side, n0tail wants the best teams to win. Saying that “There are no feelings,” he’s really expressing how he doesn’t want relationships to be affected over just a few games.

I personally feel very sad about this, since you can almost relate to it in real life as well. And this is what TI is about. All the feelings, the sadness, the hype, amounting to great things and a great event. We only have a few days left, so get together with your friends, or get into a call and watch together. Make the most out of it!
