The top three matches to watch at the LA Thieves Home Series

This most-anticipated event is chock-full of great matchups
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information

The LA Thieves Home Series takes place from June 10-13 and is perhaps the most anticipated Call of Duty event of the season. Not only is this the last event before the Stage 4 Major but there are a ton of interesting matches.

The home team Thieves just made a shocking roster change and they take part in two of the weekend’s most intriguing series. There’s also a couple of top-seeded matchups that will determine the winners bracket for the Major. The event has a lot riding on it for some teams, and those with the highest stakes make the best matches to watch this weekend.

1. Minnesota RØKKR vs. LA Thieves

Normally, this wouldn’t be a top match. However, with the LA Thieves promoting formerly benched players Cuyler “Huke” Garland and Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat to the starting roster a day before the event, this match has become must-see TV.

Huke and SlasheR are both returning to the roster after their being benched by the Thieves. SlasheR hasn’t played in months while Huke’s murky situation with the team seems to be settled for now. The two will compete on the same roster for the first time and LA is hoping that they can turn things around for the better. On the other side, Minnesota is aiming to weather the storm. The winner of this series will have the best chance at securing either the second or third seed in Group A for the Stage 4 Major.

2. Toronto Ultra vs. New York Subliners

A battle of the second and third-ranked teams in the Call of Duty League is set for the LA Thieves Home Series. New York and Toronto haven’t matched up since April 3 and, now, they both have a ton at stake.

New York currently sits atop the standings of Group B, but a loss to the 2-1 Ultra could make the group particularly interesting. Depending on the outcome of other matches, this could determine the first-third seeding for the group. It’s safe to say that both squads will be at the top of their games and it should make for a terrific series.

3. LA Thieves vs. OpTic Chicago

The LA Thieves’ second match at their home series comes against rival OpTic Chicago. It’ll be a huge test for both squads and, once again, seeding is on the line.

OpTic Chicago currently sit in second place of Group A but a loss to LA could spell disaster for their winners bracket hopes. OpTic has been playing decently as of late, but they could run into a brick wall if LA plays up to their potential. The last time that these two teams matched up, it was an embarrassment for Chicago. However, the Thieves’ roster is different this time around and even more is on the line. This is the perfect ending to the LA Thieves Home Series.
