XM4 loadout in Warzone

The best XM4 loadout in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3

An underrated weapon in Warzone makes its presence known in Season 3

Currently, in Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone, there are several weapons vying for the top spot in the meta. With the recent weapon nerfs to the FFAR and AUG, the best weapon to use is unclear. Many players have defaulted to the CR-56 AMAX or even stayed with the FFAR because no other option stands out at the moment.

That could change soon, though, as several guns could enter the meta with the upcoming weapon tuning update in Season 3. One of those weapons, although unlikely, could be the XM4 from Black Ops Cold War. A reliable, fast-firing assault rifle, the XM4 doesn’t turn any heads, but it still features a reliable loadout that will serve players well on Verdansk ’84.

Best XM4 loadout in Warzone

The XM4 is essentially a reskin of the M4A1 from Modern Warfare, featuring similar stats and behavior. However, the original M4A1 does perform slightly better, dealing a little more damage. This doesn’t mean the XM4 can’t be improved to surpass the M4, though.

With the loadout that many players have used in Season 3, the Black Ops Cold War version of the M4 can compete with just about any weapon in Warzone:

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 13.7″ Takedown
  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Round

This loadout is by no means revolutionary. It features a slew of common attachments that are present on almost all other top loadouts for rifles in Warzone. However, there are some aspects worth going over.

The first is the 13.7″ Takedown barrel. Some players have gone with the Reinforced Heavy barrel, which increases damage range and bullet velocity, but the Takedown barrel adds an extra 50% to damage range. While there’s no added bullet velocity, the XM4 needs the extra range to keep up with weapons like the AMAX.

For the final highlight of the loadout, the Microflex LED is a tried and true choice in the optic slot. It doesn’t have a huge zoom but it gets the job done at close to medium range. For any player looking to use the XM4 at longer ranges though, swapping it out for the Visiontech 2x or Axial Arms 3x is the best route to take.

With that, anyone can make the most of the XM4, should the weapon tuning update turnout in the gun’s favor.
