A strong sniper for competitive play

Snipers are one of the most popular weapon choices for any Search and Destroy player in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

This goes double for competitive players who might want to partake in the CDL Moshpit game mode, which is a public version of Ranked Play. While most players seem content using the LA-B 330 and MCPR 300 snipers, CDL Moshpit players can also take advantage of the SP-X 80, which has a viable competitive loadout.

The SP-X 80 can be thought of as a mix between the LA-B and MCPR. It’s not as mobile as the LA-B and it doesn’t hit as hard as the MCPR, but it does just about everything at an above-average level. This particular sniper isn’t meant to be a quickscoping monster or a one-shot kill to anywhere on an enemy, though. Players will still want to aim for the upper body and stay at a distance to hit their shots. With the right set of attachments, the SP-X 80 can accomplish everything players want it to.

This specific SP-X 80 loadout is all about increasing its mobility. While players will ultimately want to keep most gunfights far away from them, this loadout gives them a fighting chance at close to mid-range.

  • Barrel: 18.5″ Bryson LR Factory
  • Ammunition: .300 High Velocity
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Match Grip
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt
  • Stock:  PVZ-890 TAC Stock

In addition to mobility getting a large bump with the stock and rear grip attachments, the SP-X also gains an improved fire rate with the FSS ST87 Bolt. There’s also a boost to bullet velocity and damage range with the 18.5″ Bryson LR Factory barrel and .300 High Velocity ammo.
