The best M16 loadout in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2

While not the most dominant gun in the meta, you shouldn't underestimate the M16's top loadout.

When discussing the tactical rifle options in Call of Duty: Warzone, the M16 isn’t the first weapon that comes to mind. That honor goes to the AUG, which has dominated Verdansk for weeks thanks to its damage output. However, the M16 is in waiting for whenever the AUG is nerfed by Raven Software.

The M16 has a lower recoil than the AUG while the latter possesses higher overall damage. Aside from those two aspects, both rifles are the same in almost every other stat. The fire rates are extremely similar, and the mobility leans toward the M16, but not by a huge margin.

At some point, a nerf to the AUG’s damage is coming, which means the M16’s low recoil could become a huge selling point. While it can’t replace the AUG in Season 2, it seems wise to have a solid M16 loadout ready for whenever that day comes.

As previously stated, the M16 features less damage and better recoil than the AUG. For its recommended loadout, the rifle needs to prioritize damage range over anything else in order to match the AUG as closely as possible. However, some attachments to help boost its already great recoil couldn’t hurt either.

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer
  • Barrel: 15.9″ Strike Team
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd

At its core, this M16 loadout excels at medium to long-range. There’s extra overall damage and damage range included to more closely match the AUG. Paired with that is extra recoil control from the Field Agent Grip and better accuracy, thanks to the Axial Arms 3x scope.

Finally, the 15.9″ Strike Team not only increases damage but also fire rate. When attempting to two-burst or even one-burst enemies, a higher fire rate is one of the most important aspects. Overall, this M16 loadout is great at medium and long-range but, until the AUG is nerfed in Warzone, it’s not worth using over other weapons.
