During the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta, there are two sniper rifles that are both incredibly strong any way you slice it. One, the KV Inhibitor, is a semi-automatic sniper while the other, the Longbow, is a bolt-action sniper. Both are very powerful weapons, but the Longbow has gained more traction early on in Modern Warfare 3, primarily thanks to its bolt-action nature and its best loadout.
When you first scroll through the sniper section of your weapons menu in MW3, you might think the Longbow shows the wrong gun model or is in the wrong section. It looks like an AK-47 with a scope on top of it, which is unlike anything we’ve seen from a sniper in COD before. However, this is intentional on the developer’s part, and even though the Longbow doesn’t look like a sniper, it can absolutely destroy an enemy team.
To see the best loadout for the Longbow in Modern Warfare 3, check out the guide below.
Best Longbow loadout in the Modern Warfare 3 beta
- Barrel: Pro-99 Long Barrel
- Laser: SL Razorhawk Laser
- Stock: Stockless
- Bolt: SA-M Quickbolt
- Magazine: 10 Round Mag
The name of the game with this loadout is mobility. As the Longbow is already a faster sniper by default, increasing this stat makes it an absolute monster when it comes to quickscoping.
Nearly all of the attachments present on the loadout improve either your aim down sights speed or sprint-to-fire time in one way or another. The lone exception is the 10 Round Mag, which does bog down your mobility slightly but in exchange for adding more bullets to each magazine so you don’t have to reload as often.

The Longbow should remain a top sniper in the full version of Modern Warfare 3, but this loadout might change due to new attachments being present.
