The best LMG to use in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 Reloaded

Two LMGs rise above the rest, and one is a top pick in the current meta

For many seasons in Call of Duty: Warzone, there was a clear-cut best light machine gun (LMG). From the era of the Bruen MK9 to the once-dominant Bren this past year in Vanguard, the LMG class has ruled Warzone at different times. In recent seasons, though, players haven’t seen the value in the class as they have in past seasons. This can be attributed to the rise of more viable assault rifles and the fact that Raven Software nerfed many of the top LMGs in Warzone.

While it remains true that there aren’t many viable LMGs in Season 4, there are a couple that are up for consideration to be called the best.

Two weapons are a step above the rest of their LMG counterparts: the Whitley and UGM-8. These guns were added into Warzone after Vanguard initially launched, and both have dominated the class at different points. More recently, though, the UGM-8 has taken over Warzone as a whole, and not just the LMG class. Players began to realize just how strong the UGM-8 is at long range, and they began using it more and more.

As a result, the UGM-8 is our pick for the best LMG in Warzone Season 4 Reloaded. The gun has virtually no recoil when equipped with the right attachments and can mow enemies down at any range. The UGM-8 also features some of the best versatility in Warzone, boasting two separate meta loadouts. One of the loadouts is fully-auto while the other is burst-fire. Both are completely viable in Season 4 Reloaded. The burst-fire loadout features a higher time-to-kill but requires more accuracy since players need to hit all of their bursts.

Here are both loadouts for the UGM-8:

Burst-fire loadout

  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: Romuald 560mm DA
  • Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
  • Stock: Romuald Tac YR
  • Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
  • Magazine: 6.5mm Sakura 125 Round
  • Ammunition: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Hatched Grip
  • Perk: Brace
  • Perk 2: On-Hand

Fully-auto loadout

  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: Romuald 560mm DA
  • Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
  • Stock: Romuald Tac YR
  • Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
  • Magazine: 6.5mm Sakura 125 Round
  • Ammunition: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Hatched Grip
  • Perk: Brace
  • Perk 2: On-Hand

Regardless of which loadout players decide to use, the UGM-8 remains one of the top long-range choices in Warzone Season 4. If more assault rifles are nerfed in the future, then the UGM-8 should fully enter the meta as a top weapon in the entire game, and not just its own class.
