The best LA-B 330 loadout in MW2

One of the best overall snipers in MW2

During the life cycle of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, marksman rifles have been the preferred choice for quickscopers in multiplayer. They are fast, can one-shot kill enemies with an upper-body shot, and are extremely enjoyable to use. If you’ve been getting sick of marksman rifles, though, I recommend swapping to the LA-B 330 in MW2, which has an equally fast and enjoyable loadout.

The LA-B 330 is a version of the M40A3 from previous Modern Warfare games. It’s fast, has decent accuracy, and damage range that closely matches the beefier snipers in the game, like the MCPR-300. Essentially, the LA-B is a mix between a regular sniper and a marksman rifle, which has been quite alluring to players over the course of MW2. However, players won’t get far with the LA-B 330 unless they use its top set of attachments in MW2.

In order for the LA-B 330 to keep up with the other snipers in its class, you will need to increase its bullet velocity and damage range. Luckily, you can do just that with a couple of key attachments.

  • Barrel: 23.5” Fluted R-67 Barrel
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
  • Optic: SP-X 80
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt
  • Stock: ZLR T70 Pad Extension Stock

The first attachment on this loadout, the 23.5″ Fluted R-67 Barrel helps with the much-needed increase in bullet velocity. The next few attachments boost your overall mobility by a substantial margin, which is extra important if you’re looking to quickscope with the LA-B 330.

While this loadout might not be as fast as a marksman rifle or as powerful as a regular sniper, it has a great mix between the two and allows players to play how they want with it.

As a final note, you can use the LA-B 330 in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
