There are some things that Call of Duty players ask for every year. Decent weapon variety, strong maps, stable servers, etc. are all among the chief requests from the community in any title. However, sometimes the developers decide to give the player base an item or feature that nobody asked for. In the Season 3 Reloaded update, the developers have done just that by adding the GS Magna to the weapon pool. The GS Magna is a fully automatic version of the Desert Eagle, and players can craft quite the intriguing loadout with it in MW2 multiplayer.
Like its .50 GS counterpart in MW2, the GS Magna is a strong pistol that “boasts a thunderous rate of fire and enough power to put an end to anyone foolish enough to cross your path.” The main difference is that players can “hold down the trigger and let this .50 Cal speak for itself,” which, of course, you can’t do with the normal .50 GS.
If you want to truly gain an advantage over others using the GS Magna in MW2, you will want to use the pistol’s strongest set of attachments.
Best GS Magna loadout in MW2
- Muzzle: Matuzek Crown
- Barrel: SA Tyrant Fifty
- Underbarrel: Bruen Warrior Grip
- Magazine: 13 Round Mag
- Rear Grip: EXF Resistance Grip
With the pistol being fully automatic, you want to ensure that you have enough bullets in each magazine to kill at least one enemy. That’s where the 13 Round Mag comes into play.
The rest of the loadout is focused on boosting damage range and recoil control, both of which are sorely needed on this weapon. The Matuzek Crown muzzle, the Bruen Warrior Grip, and the EXF Resistance Grip all give the GS Magna improved recoil control, making it much easier to control. Those attachments are followed by the SA Tyrant Fifty barrel, which boosts damage range so you can kill enemies faster.
While not the best secondary in multiplayer, the GS Magna is an enjoyable weapon to use from time to time in MW2.
As a final note, you can use the GS Magna in the new Modern Warfare 3 and use this same loadout to great effect. However, you will need to change most of the rest of the class, as the perks have been entirely changed in the new multiplayer title. You can still use the same lethal or tactical as well as a similar secondary weapon. Of course, I suggest using some of the new content first so you can experience some of the fresh items in MW3.
